Gateway programs, or scripts, are executable programs that can be run independently but interface with web pages.

		The practice of showing a search engine spider a different page than what an actual human visitor would see.			A Web Promotion concept

This means that the server looks up the unique address (assigned to each visitor) to see if the visitor is a spider. If it is, it feeds it specialised content, designed to rank well for certain search terms. Search engines are able to detect such dubious practices, and will penalise or ban sites responsible.

With CSS, style information can be centralised leading to more flexibility (easier changes to the look and feel of sites) and less clutter. Leaner pages (i.e. less HTML bloat) result which generally perform much better with the search engines (it terms of rankings). The Webmasters Resources section has tools which work with CSS in its Web Authoring category, and we can recommend W3Schools.

This is a very effective way of providing compelling content. If visitors can observe that some content has been contributed by other visitors, then it will only come across as being that more convincing. Further more, it is another means for customers to interact. They will certainly come back to check to see if their review was successfully posted or not.
